Instructions for Use:
A coat of Sanding Sealer and one or two cans of Spray Color will give you a vibrant, smooth, durable, satin finish that will work well with fabrics, wallpapers and other colors you may own. Spray your item with Sanding Sealer to seal a porous surface so that a can of paint will have better, more even coverage.
Directions:
1. Set up in a well-ventilated, well-lit area. Outdoors and out of the wind is best. Use a good face mask and rubber gloves.
2. Good prep work is the key to great results: Thoroughly sand surfaces with 320 (fine) grit sandpaper. Make extra efforts to remove all previous paints and varnishes to maximize the bonding of the Sealer and Spray Color. Clean and dust completely before spraying Sealer.
3. Spray all surfaces with Sealer to promote bonding of the paint with surface and help even out the final finish. Otherwise, your piece may ‘absorb’ the paint too much.
• Shake can of Sealer for at least 1 min. and hold can 12 inches from item.
• Apply 2 light coats of Sealer allowing 20 min. between coats. Let second coat dry 1 hour before spraying top coat. Be patient between coats to avoid drips.
• Lightly sand and dust surface again.
• Now you’re ready for the fun part, to spray on the color.
4. Place your item between a good light source and yourself to reduce shadows and see the spray pattern of your color.
• Follow spraying directions from above.
• Be patient between coats to avoid drips:allow time for adequate ‘tackiness’ to the touch before applying more coats.
Other Useful Tips:
• Make sure all previous paints, varnishes, etc. are sufficiently removed or "roughed" throughly before applying the Sealer. Otherwise, final results will be unsatisfactory as sealer and paint will not adhere.
• Paint hard-to-see areas first.
• Spray your item from bottom to top.
• Spray just off one edge of the item and finish just after the other edge. This ensures even thickness of paint.
• Repeat until finished. Clear coat not needed as this is a very durable finish.
• Clean up with a paint or laquer thinner.
