A weighted border of proportional contrasting stripes, poignant in its simplicity, gives structure to this soumak weave rug. Soumak weaving adds texture, strength and dimension by wrapping each warp yarn with the weft, a technique that can only be done by hand. One of the modern creations from the design collaboration between Annie Selke and West Coast designer Mark D. Sikes, a traditional tailored look with a twist of east meets west.
