Harbor Oysters

If Kim Hovell had a spirit animal, it would certainly be the oyster! Her unique ability to capture its rough-hewn outer shell and smooth iridescent interior in abstract detail is what she has become known for. While at first glance this painting may appear to be white, upon further inspection many different hues and shades of color begin to emerge. We stumbled upon Kim showing her work at the Annapolis Summer Art Festival and were instantly enamored with her oyster paintings.
